Azalea
Indoor/Outdoor
Azalea’s are generally an outdoor bonsai but I have found them to flourish inside. As long as it is near a window with ample water it will flower with the most exquisite display of flowers. They can handle light frost but will suffer severely with black frost. Azalea’s grow well in full sun or shade but will best perform in semi-shade outside.
Watering
Azalea’s cannot tolerate dried out soil, their leave will drop down and with water will immediately go back up with but with the cost of the ends of the leave dying back.
Re-Potting
Only requires re-potting every three or four years depending on the age of the plant and when re-potting leave fair amounts of the old soil to ensure not to remove the bacteria in the soil for a mutually beneficial relationship.
Training
Azaleas are not great for wiring as their branches are very brittle and tend to snap when bending.
